Ball Launching Water table
Client: Mid-America Science Museum
Location: Hot Spring, Arkansas
Installed: February 2015
This amazing water exhibit has a sixteen feet diameter lower basin that contains several science based interactives, along with an eight feet tall water vortex. Plastic balls can be launched eighteen feet from the lower basin up to the second floor of the museum, via two laminar flow jets. The jets carry the balls up and deposit them into two different air cannons located on the second floor. The balls can then be launched by the cannons up to an inverted spiral cone. From the cone, the balls fall eighteen feet back into the water vortex on the first floor.
