Cedar Park Public Library

Located in Cedar Park’s Bell District, the new public library serves as a vibrant community hub with a reimagined approach to learning. Boss Display partnered with leading architecture firm Lake Flato to design and build interactive STEM exhibits for the children’s area. Reflecting the library’s natural aesthetic, the hands-on features—like Scarf Tubes, Magnetic Gear Wall, and Color Wheel—introduce scientific concepts, while the two-story playhouse, complete with a faux kitchen, market stands, and kaleidoscope viewports, invites imaginative play. The result is a dynamic, engaging space that enriches the community learning experience.

Project: Youth Area

Location: Cedar Park, TX

Installed: October 2024

The two story playhouse is equipped with a talk tube, pretend play kitchen and faux apple trees.

The nature-themed magnetic gear wall encourages visitors to create gear trains and engage with simple machines.

A large collapsible water vortex serves as a unique water source for the table.

The air tubes allow users to send scarfs soaring through the air, changing their pathways as they fly.

Continuing with the theme of color exploration, visitors can create vibrant works of art with the illumination station.

The crawler area provides a space for young guests to interact with mirrors, lily pads, and wall mounted flowers.

The interactive water table creates a playful environment in the outdoor patio area.

Guests rotate the backlit color wheel to explore various color combinations.

The front of the playhouse contains several wall mounted games as well as a fruit stand for storage.

Guests can interact with STEM themed components like the water screw lift or create their own drum beats using the button activated water drums.
